I have just been through a few other tests to make sure I have not been doing something "stupid" And then everytime I moved a file from either folder, I get a window popping up asking me if I really want to remove that item from the cloud!! I don't want it to be only in the cloud, so what do I do? Why is this not made more clear? When I selected them to be shared/synced via the cloud, I never wanted them to not be on my computer. Although on the MacBook it could be how I now have a duplicate of those folders. I read that I can drag folders from iCloud to my computer, but I tried and nothing moved. Meanwhile, in attempting to transfer, or merely sync those folders to my MacBook Pro, somehow I ended up with my Documents file (& maybe the Desktop, too), duplicated, so I have two of everything in the folders! Both of these situations are not what I intended, nor want. And I'm assuming, that if I'm not connected to the internet, I probably can't access either folder, since they both exist only in the cloud. However, on my iMac, I no longer have them shown in the sidebar, and must click on the iCloud icon, and then click on one or the other folders within it. I must've selected to share my Documents & Desktop folders to the cloud. ICloud has removed a major folder from my iMac, and duplicated it, on my Macbook, & I'm thoroughly confused. Running a 2021 Intel MacBook Pro, Monterey 12.1 All help / suggestions gratefully received as it is bugging me to see this! Pretty sure this is a glitch, so wondering if there is any advice on how to force the iCloud and MacBook to sync properly. I've never used the "Remove Download" option when managing files or storage on the machine I have also applied the "Download Now" option several times for the "Documents" folder and all sub-folders, just to ensure everything is in sync - but to no avail. However, everything currently in the corresponding folder within iCloud has been loaded up to iCloud from the Documents folder on the machine, so cannot see how the software is advising that the Documents folder has items in it that require downloading. Sync status for Documents folder on MacBook incorrect Hi - Recently found the "Documents" Folder display in Finder to be constantly displaying the symbol (iCloud with downward arrow) suggesting that some items in this folder have not been downloaded from iCloud. However, documents with application folders like Numbers are being synced without issues.( signing out and back into iCloud failed to resolve the issue) However, I soon realised that in reality the folders I added were NOT continuously being synced, and the only solution was to recopy the folder into iCloud Drive. After that initial instruction, the folder does appear to be synced within iCloud Drive and I could access documents via my other devices.I want to sync a small number of folders on my other devices via iCloud and I followed the Apple instructions to select the folder(s) in question and insert them into the iCloud dialogue via Finder.Firstly I realise there is an option to sync Desktop and Documents, and I have used that in the past but it caused more significant issues with my Multi Display system and for what I want to do it is akin to a Sledge Hammer to crack an egg!.I use MacBook M1 Pro with 13.4.1(c) and i have the following issue:. Yes this topic has been raised previously, and I have read quite a few posts, but cannot find my situation mentioned, apologies if I missed it.
